PAINTERLY SCANDINAVIAN PORTRAITS IN STUDIO
I am constantly fine-tuning my style of photography particularly in portraiture. I love the look of old paintings and I feel that this is the way my style should be going. Lighting is very simple that I base on two principles:
- Big light source placed as close to the model as possible creates the softest and most pleasing look.
- Some sort of reflection is needed on the shadow side of the face to make the light graduation more even.
I also favour textured canvas backgrounds over paper backgrounds that we are used to seeing everywhere. The one in my images is a 3m x 3m canvas background, hand-painted with different shades of grey.
